Treat, Technology....and Chainsaws!
It’s no secret that I am terrible with technology.
But apparently, I am even worse than I thought!
I had no idea that our website generates emails asking for reviews of products. When we first started getting reviews, I thought you all were just being really nice to me! But THANK YOU to everyone who takes the time to give us reviews. It really does make me feel good!
For our anniversary, I told Lance I just wanted a day of his time to get all of the Schone’s Scones pricing and website stuff figured out. Romantic right?!
If you have been here a while, you know I used to practically pay you all to eat our carmelitas. So clearly, technology isn't my only weakness. Business and finance aren't exactly my strong suits either!
We made some progress last week, although I think we're going to need a few more anniversary celebrations to get through everything. And Lance made the mistake of getting me an Oara ring as a gift, so now I am lost in the rabbit hole of that technology as well.
Yesterday, Liliana surprised me with some code she wrote so our system will automatically send messages when orders are delivered. I have absolutely no idea how any of this works, but I am grateful that my family does!
All of this has me wondering how the website works from YOUR side. Is ordering easy? Is there anything we could improve? Please let me know! I really do appreciate the feedback.
(And yes, I know Apple Pay automatically defaults to delivery, which makes me CRAZY. We've reported it to Wix, but so far, no fix!)
Speaking of feedback, I'm trying to work some yummy fall flavors into the menu without going completely Pumpkin Spice Latte on you. If you have any fall favorites you'd love to see, send them my way!
And don't worry, cinnamon rolls are right around the corner. I've been working hard at Pilates to build up my arm strength for all that dough rolling!
This week is another busy one in the Schone’s Scones kitchen. I'm excited to be making LOTS of cookies for the Potomac Fall Frolics, along with some special birthday orders for a few lucky kiddos!
Just a reminder that I generally book special orders about 2–3 weeks in advance, so please reach out early. And I'll be posting our Halloween menu later this week so you can start planning for parties and festivities!
And now, I must sign off.
Lance and Boeden have apparently decided that today is a good day to give our gigantic crape myrtle tree a haircut. Their plan involves chainsaws, ladders, and somehow getting onto our roof.
I am NOT in favor of this undertaking. Particularly since we have several perfectly reasonable (and much smaller) trees that actually need to come down.
But apparently, they love a challenge.
So let's all keep our fingers crossed that we don't end up visiting Izzy at work today!!
Have a great weekend!
Xo,
Heather

The neighbors pulled in as a large branch was landing in their yard....I was not calm about it!
The death claw his fun aunt got him....coming in handy!
