A Full House, A New Mixer & an invitation to join our StarKid team!

Wow- this has been a busy/exciting week!

First of all, Lil is home for 10 days. After an intense job search and just completing her final collegiate swim season, she just wanted to come home and relax for spring break!  Little did she know that as soon as we found out she had a job in DC, I started a renovation of our basement so that she could have her own space, not right next to her brothers! We had this super long room down in the basement that was mostly Boeden’s area- so we cut it in half, and made her a really nice room! So Lil and Izzy are now next door neighbors downstairs - and she was totally surprised! (And I turned her upstairs bedroom into an office for me!) I will attach the video of us surprising her!

Next, the new mixer arrived. It’s 390lbs and a total beast. The delivery man offered to help us get it up the porch steps, and let’s just say Lance nearly lost a limb in the process and both of them were very out of breath. After a day or so, Lance and Bensten moved it just inside our front door- essentially blocking all traffic. It spent several days there, and then we were able to slide it just far enough so we could use the front door. Lance is currently downstairs building a base with wheels, so hopefully it will be in the kitchen in the near future. Lance’s buddy said “the line between house and bakery is blurry” and let’s just say he’s not wrong! My family puts up with a lot!

Perhaps of most importance to the teenage population- who surely does not read this blog- I have Dubai Chocolate Cookies cooling on the counter. I just tried my first batch. I made homemade pistachio cream with Kataifi, and then a rich chocolate cookie and as soon as they cool, I will drizzle with chocolate and sprinkle with pistachio pieces….stay tuned!

And most important (in my mind) is that we have just created our team for the INOVA Starkid 5K. It’s on June 7th (Boeden’s birthday!) and we will have people walking, running and fun-running as well as just spectating. It would mean so much to me if you would join our team! You can join and just come out to cheer. It’s a very feel good event- and lots of fun activities for little ones. Face painting, balloon artists, inflatables…

I have opened the menu for this coming Friday (March 13) as well as St. Patricks’s Day which is the following Monday (March 16).

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Xo,

Heather

And just so you can kinda see how we changed the downstairs, this was the room pre-renovation! (Boeden's Legos were in there, but he now has a new legos studio that he likes just as much!)
